Luke 14
SCRIPTURE
Jesus said, "When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed."
Most of us have an unwritten list of people we'd prefer not to serve. Jesus invites us to widen our circle of service to include those on our unwritten list.
Who are the people on your "unwritten list"? Why is it so difficult for you to serve these people?
In what ways do you think God might bless you for your hospitality to these particular people?
Make an effort to not choose only those people you like most or feel closest to....even the most difficult people to get along with have some good qualities.
Your out-pouring hospitality will not only give the recipient a lift, it will also improve your own outlook by helping you view those around you more positively.
By making a conscious effort to look for things to appreciate in others, focusing on the good, will overide human nature and make you a more positive person.
Love and kindness are to the heart what sunshine and water are to a flower.
