How are things going on with you as you started journeying in this new year?

We have started our youth meeting for this year every Saturday. You can join us at SCC 4:30pm and after the Youth Service at 5:45pm - 6:45pm, we continue with our workshop to teach music. So far the response is very good as we can see a lot of them signed up and stayed back for the workshop. We are training and raising up new musicians for the church. Praise the Lord!

Also, we will be concentrating this few months till April in teaching praise and worship for our youth. We will build a lifestyle of praise and worship in our young people's life. Come and join us if you are around here and get the Word of God into your heart. God love it when His people praise and worship Him.

Some of the topics we have covered:

1. Getting to know Jesus personally
- This is important because praise and worship begins with our knowledge with God. Without knowledge we cannot praise and worship God properly.

2. Thankfulness as a lifestyle
- Cultivate a lifestyle of thankfulness is very important to grow and progress in praise and worship.
- Thankfulness and our experience of salvation is closely related. When we experience and know that God saves us we will be thankful to God.

We are going to learn more about praise and worship in the Youth Service. We pray that the young people will grow in praise and worshipping God and live a lifestyle of worship. God bless you. IGNYTES!

Ps. CarloPs. A touch from God changed his life forever. The one who considered himself as one of the best Pharisees that confesses he counts himself nothing and considers himself as not yet taken hold of what Christ took hold of him. Look at the drastic change in his motivation and goal. His new goal was to receive the prize of eternal life in Christ and the crown of righteousness. Are you running towards goals which are self justified, worldly and materialistic or are you pressing towards the new eternal goal with eyes firmly fixed on Jesus , the author and finisher of our faith?

~ Ravi Raiborde

Our theme for the youth camp is "Amazing Race". Two and half days to youth camp. Are you all excited! I am!

A short devotion to share with you all, especially for those who need guidance.

He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way (Psalm 25: 8-9). It is God's sovereign desire to guide us according to His purpose and plans. It is our responsibility to ensure that our desires and plans line up to His will. F. B. Meyer once said, Three lights must light up before God's will is clear. (1) The inward impulse - the voice of the Lord ( 2) The Word of God - as revealed in Scripture (3) The trend of circumstances - difficult situations aligning us to God's promise.

~ Richard William
Ps. Was not able to blog. It has been several busy weeks but it has been a meaningful and great time. Have been greatly blessed by our trip to Guam and also the Foursquare Family Camp. Now I am looking forward to the Ignyte Camp. I believe that God can do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think according to the power that is within us (Eph 3:20).

Just a short sharing here:

Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod (2 Samuel 6:14). Tthe scene is punctuated with shouts of excitement and triumph, and with the sound of trumpets. King David was extreme in expressing his love towards God, extreme in his commitment and extreme in his worship. We have heard of extreme makeover, extreme gourmet - will we be extreme in our passion for Him?

~ Kelly Koh

Ps. Reading these verses, which of the things God does for us particularly resonates with you?

The phrase that struck me most is found in verse 35: "You stoop down to make me great." That is how wonderful our God is. He does amazing things for us.

Psalm 18:30-36:

30 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. I took a break from writing on this blog. I wonder how many have log into this blog and was disappointed?

Now for today, this devotional thot is for those who are sitting for their exams.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4: 6-7). We have His power to overcome worry and anxiety. We do it by praying about everything with petition and thanksgiving. When we truly bring our requests and cares to God, He responds by filling and guarding our hearts and minds with His peace that goes beyond all our human understanding. Do it today!

~ Fred Horner
Ps. John Maxwell said, Our generation needs leaders who know the way, go the way and show the way. Great leaders do not evolve. They are groomed, mentored, discipled and taken though many tests and trials. The Great Commission commands us to invest our time and lives into making leaders that will turn the world upside down for His glory.

~ Debbie William
Ps. Courage is seen in the person whose back is against the wall when the odds are against them, when the pressure is on, when the attack is at hand.

2) Have an unrelenting obedience. God accepts sacrifice but demands obedience. Obedience is our faith in action.

3) Soak in God's Word. The world wants to make your mind into a garbage tank to control it, but God wants to turn it into a command center where we become His agents of change.

~ Richard William
Ps. Jennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16547073213784200895noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3984476090362243283.post-63403345534183854802010-11-09T12:14:00.002+08:002010-11-09T12:19:39.275+08:00The Lord of HostsJehovah Sabaoth means God is the head of a great army of heavenly host. The world has never seen a conqueror like Him. There has never been a king, an emperor, a general or marshal like Him. It is an image of unlimited power, unbridled might and untarnished glory. Since hearing of the mind disaster I’d already asked myself the question. Trapped and isolated in the confines of a sealed mine nearly a mile beneath the earth’s surface and knowing my chances of rescue were slim, could I survive without literally losing my mind?

Given what we now know took place during those 70 days in the miners’ underground camp, I believe I could, and so could you! As I’ve pondered their amazing story, I’ve identified four factors, apart from adequate food and water, that insured their emotional survival. These factors are essential not only for the survival of miners caught in a trapped mine, but ordinary people like you and me who may face circumstances in our lives equally devastating and beyond our control: the tragic death of a loved one, the loss of a career or a relationship, the unhealed scars of an abusive past, the unrelenting power of an addiction, and the list goes on.

Inventory time! They stuck to the structure and routine even when they didn’t feel like it!

They had a daily purpose.
From food distribution to communicating with the outside world, every man knew when he got up in the morning what was expected of him and what the fulfillment of those responsibilities contributed to his survival and the survival of others. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart me you can do nothing (John 15:5). Do you want to be more fruitful in your endeavours for Christ? We all want to see results. Whether it is producing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) or seeing the spiritual fruit of new souls being won to Christ, we cannot produce anything on our own. We must abide and remain in Christ, as a branch that receives it nourishment and life from the vine. The branch does not do anything. It just remains connected! His life then flows through us to produce results.

~ Leah Horner
Ps. To win, first, is the willingness and dedication to preparation. There is no easy way. In 1976, Indiana University won the NCAA National Title. When interviewed about their success, coach Knight said, The will to succeed is important but what is more important is the will to prepare. To desire to win is 10% inspiration but 90% perspiration. Do what you must do today and win!

~ Richard William
Ps. Goliath was a born champion, but David was the real champion. Goliath was naturally big, tall and strong, but David was young in age yet developed in every area of his life. There is a military saying: If you train like you fight, you will fight like you train. Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity (1 Timothy 4: 12-13).

~ Richard William
Ps. (1 Corinthians 9:24). Have a passion to achieve. Run in such a way as to get the prize. Passion is determination. There must be a single-minded determination in our Christian life: To live for Christ to the best of our ability. Have an attitude like an athlete who is determined to win. Nothing less than full effort is acceptable. We are called to run, not walk. We are called to run not jog. Run to win!

~ Richard WilliamPs. The last marathoner came in hours ago and medals had already been awarded. Akhwari from Tazania, covered with blood, hobbled into the light. He had taken a horrible fall early in the race and endured a trampling before he could get back on his feet. Why after sustaining multiple injuries would you ever get up and proceed to the finish line? Akhwari said this: My country did not send me over 11,000 kilometers to start a race, but to finish one. Jesus sent you to finish the race.

~ Richard William

Our theme for this coming youth camp is "The Amazing Race."
